Teacher Bio

The subject matter of my work varies greatly. I enjoy the diversity of it all and most often, draw my inspiration from my travels or some quirky encounter or scene along the way. It can range from crusty old cowboys in Arizona to young school girls posing in their classroom, “gangsta” style, in Haiti. I am interested in all the aspects of daily life, colors, patterns or textures of a scene. It could also be an expression on a face or the feeling of amusement or nostalgia that makes me decide to paint it. Each scene that I draw tends to have its own story. Most of my work has many layers, as with life, and takes time to complete. I work in a variety of mediums. Colored pencils are my favorite and what I use the most, though I also enjoy using watercolor, pastels and scratchboard.
